Maintenance Engineer (Packing)

Job Description

We’re looking for an electrical technician with mechanical competencies to join our team to help us actively drive a safe, quality focused, preventative culture and problem solve our losses and defects in our factory.

In this role you will be responsible for the technical availability of the equipment within the area/line and will be the person accountable to safely maintain, clean, inspect and lubricate the line/area according to standards.”

Safely maintains the line to ensure delivery of output according to quality standards. Accountable for core shift /area KPIs Delivering the shift / area Key Performance Indicators - KPIs in Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Engagement (according to Key Performance Indicators - KPI tree).

Safety Health and Environment:

  • Delivers a Safety Health and Environment culture and role model behaviours by following safety procedures, using Personal Protective Equipment – PPE and works calm and orderly
  • Leads incident investigations and confronts unsafe conditions and behaviours immediately. Solves safety issues directly or through escalation
  • Participate in Risk Assessment process as required
  • Cooperates with team to keep work place safe, clean and well ordered. Helps colleagues to work safely
  • Escalates and implements solutions to impact risks in ergonomics and working conditions
  • Reports any unsafe situation, substandard, near miss, incident or defect

Quality:

  • Performs all maintenance interventions in a manner that protects the quality of the product paying special attention to contamination of equipment and products by oils, fats or foreign objects (hard plastic, dirt, etc...)

Delivery & Cost:

  • Autonomous maintenance of Advises, transfers knowledge and technical expertise in the teams to guarantee equipment in basic condition
  • Performs all its interventions in accordance with the Autonomous Maintenance methodology to keep equipment in basic condition
  • Eliminates equipment abnormalities and actively participates in the correction of all major or minor defects
  • Corrective maintenance of Develops knowledge of machines by being available on production lines; shares observations with Operators
  • Raises the relevant documentation related to the correction of defects
  • Actions all Breakdowns as quick as possible and carries out Breakdown Analysis using the standards provided
  • Is responsible for monitoring the line after a breakdown to ensure an effective and efficient start of the equipment (ensuring efficiency, product quality etc)
  • Preventive maintenance of Execute preventative maintenance plan on time and participate in preventive maintenance activities and the refurbishment of parts according to equipment availability
  • Keeps maintenance records updated with all the details required
  • Continuously self develops own competency on equipment to evolve technical knowledge and keep abreast of technological changes; regularly consults the technical documentation available
  • Collaborates with the Stores to guarantee the availability of spare parts through the correct use of procedures and standards
  • Participates in the selection and validation of new parts from local suppliers
  • Uses Manufacturing Operating System - MOS tools as a daily routine to ensure key KPIs delivery that contributing to Compelling Business Need – CBN and Champions 1 Manufacturing Operating System - MOS tool
  • Participates in Operations Performance meetings Structure - OPS Level 1 and responsible for information transfer between the shifts
  • Eradicates losses, identifies and executes actions on deviation from basic conditions

Qualifications

  • Must have previous maintenance experience ideally within an fast paced environment
  • Demonstrable Technical skills
  • Strong experience within  a processing industry
  • Mechanical/ electrical/pneumatics/electronics experience
  • Knowledge of automation
  • Pack office/SAP/PRS/ Machine interface software
  • NVQ or CITB Apprenticeship and/or an HNC Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Needs to have an electrical bias (previous control/instrumentation experience)
  • You will also have worked in a similar fast paced and safety-critical manufacturing site, and we are hoping that you will come in and hit the ground running – although we will develop you in line with our training needs analysis plan and our continuous improvement methodology (MOS) being our fundamental way of working.
