Shift Lead - Coffee Process

Job Description

The Shift Lead develops and leads associates on the shift. The role, in conjunction with the Technical Lead drives the successful delivery of all key activities in the shift related to producing the demand requested by Planning and supply, SHE, quality, labour allocation, optimized cost and production execution.

The Shift Leader develops a culture of ownership, high action orientation and intentionality for results which delivers manufacturing excellence.

Delivers the shift contribution to the CBN, long term (VCP) and short-term (AOP) plans cascaded from the area strategy which continuously over delivers on company goals.

Safety:

  • Role models SHE culture behaviours at a shift level. Drives adherence to SHE requirements and compliance to legal, corporate standards & policies and local standards & policies
  • Create a Safe and Healthy work environment by leading incident investigations and escalation of unsafe conditions and behaviours
  • Stops work when safety is at risk

Quality:

  • Role models quality behaviours at a shift level. Drives adherence to quality requirements and compliance to legal, corporate standards & policies and local standards & policies

Leadership:

  • Drives manufacturing excellence within the shift team through engaged leadership and coaching. Develops and coaches the associates in the team to close the competency gap
  • Builds an excellent and effective Operator team
  • Wider than the shift, they will play an active part in the wider Banbury key leadership team.

Delivery & Cost:

  • Execute the daily processes and labour to deliver the production plan

Qualifications

  • Developed experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment
  • Experience in leading teams and evidence of developing a team to deliver results
  • Profound knowledge and experience of Operational Excellence methodologies like TPM (prerequisite), Lean and 6 Sigma
  • Knowledge of manufacturing software, SAP, ERP system, MS Office
  • Highly autonomous and able to make decisions in a fast paced environment with strong problem solving skills and experience
  • The ability to work in a cold room environment (role is subject to passing cold room medical), due to working with Freeze Dried Coffee 
  • Highly effective communication skills both verbally and in writing
