Field Sales Assistant / Merchandiser (fulltime)

Job Description

JDE is looking for a committed full-time field sales assistant / merchandiser to ensure quality JDE products are always available for purchase by the shopper in Christchurch, New Zealand. You will replace someone who got promoted internally to a Territory Sales Manager position, a career path that might be possible for you too! You will support our Sales Specialists at the store level to optimise all available sales opportunities. You will drive to different stores in the Christchurch area on a daily basis. You will be responsible for:

Merchandising and building displays: Fill shelves and build and fill off location displays to a specified store planogram and layouts as advised by a Field Sales Specialist.

Territory sales responsibility: Taking ownership of a small number of stores (1 - 1.5 days a week) to discuss key event activation, negotiate incremental display opportunities and support with order placement where required.

Store Liaison: Liaise with appropriate store staff to ensure adequate stock is always available to merchandise shelves and displays. 

Stock Rotation: All stock is to be rotated and products with low shelf life should be reported.

Store Compliance: Complete compliance checks - ensure products have correct shelf tickets and/or promo tickets and are in correct flow on the shelf.

Team updates and meetings: Engage in weekly team dialogue, sharing success, opportunities and supporting the wider team.

This is an exciting permanent fulltime opportunity, merchandising for our Retail stores in Christchurch, Canterbury region, South Island. 

Qualifications

  • Right to work in NZ
  • Full time availability (prefer to work 18 hrs a week? Then apply for an 18hr merchandiser position in Christchurch via this link)
  • Physically fit: the role entails a lot of moving and lifting of boxes
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Strong communicator who can collaborate effectively with different teams and stores
  • Previous experience in merchandising and sales is preferred but not a hard requirement
  • You're open to starting early on Monday mornings (before 5:30 AM) - we require displays to be build before the store opens
