Mechanical Technician - 4on 4 off Shift Pattern

Job Description

The Banbury site is a large site with some equipment in use for over 20 years as such we are looking for an experience Technician.

This technician role will be on 4 on 4 off Shift in Coffee Process – which would include Spray Dried, Freeze Dried and Utilities (Boilers and Roasters). As a Technician at JDE you will work autonomously on fault prevention and Mechanical fault fixing. Working in this role will involve the following:

  • To undertake planned maintenance and breakdown work as required.
  • Work in line with JDE safety standards.
  • To work as a close-knit team to actively drive the resolution of plant breakdowns and resolve running issues.
  • Maintain good levels of housekeeping in all areas of the plant
  • To attend and actively participate in OPS/production meetings and RCA sessions. Report plant status and identify escalations as required
  • To actively support the operational team to meet volume demands
  • Active use of SAP to log breakdown data, correctives and booking parts out of Stores

Qualifications

  • Time served apprenticeship in mechanical discipline or Multi-skilled with a strong mechanical bias
  • You MUST have prior maintenance experience in a large factory environment such as Chemical Processing, Food or Drink Manufacturing, Power plants or even from within the military in a maintenance role candidates without this will not be considered.

Ideal Experiences

  • Experience working within an FMCG environment.
  • Motors/ gearboxes.
  • Pumps of various configurations (centrifugal, lobe, piston, diaphragm, etc.)
  • Valves, pipework and connecting joints.
  • Transportation systems of both liquid and solid product
  • Working with chemicals such as Caustic and Acid.
  • Working in either extreme heat or extreme cold.
  • Knowledge of boilers/ steam maintenance.
  • Experience and use of SAP maintenance software would be advantageous.

As part of a small working group the successful applicant will be expected to be self-motivated, a team player, flexible and prepared to take on a range of responsibilities without the need for supervision.

  • In return for the above we offer a salary (inclusive of Shift allowance) of £ £50K+

  • Working in Freeze Dried would require a cold room medical which would have to be passed prior to any successful offer.
