Job Description

The Banbury Coffee Manufacturing plant is one of the leading plants in JDE’s global manufacturing network, producing and packing Instant Coffee and Tassimo Discs for some of the best known and loved coffee brands including Kenco, L’OR, Douwe Egberts, Maxwell House and Jacobs.  With a cost base of approximately £60m, the Plant Finance team play a key role in controlling costs.

As well as providing financial control, the Finance team acts as a key business partner to the Plant Leadership Team ensuring that the Plant achieves its objectives and delivers against Budget.

This role is perfect for someone still qualifying or just recently qualified who is looking for their first Finance Partnership role. It will give you the exposure with key stakeholder, allow you to build those relations and really own a business unit. Setting you up for success in your future finance career 

The Finance business Partner is responsible for all cost optimisation and financial reporting activities for their section in the plant.  

Key responsibilities:

  • Business partner to the Section Manager, influencing decision making and driving a cost-conscious culture
  • Using data to provide financial insight and identify tactical and strategic risks and opportunities
  • Drive continuous improvement in existing processes (both financial and non-financial)
  • Partnering with wider manufacturing leaders on change initiatives and wider manufacturing projects
  • Responsibility for Head count cost controls

Qualifications

  • Management accountant experience - recently qualified or minimum 1 year away from qualification 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to develop and nurture relationships
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to manage own workload and work at speed and under pressure
  • Sound financial and commercial acumen with the ability to challenge and influence decision making in a positive way
  • Ability to present/explain financial data to non-financial individuals
  • Intermediate plus Excel skills (VLOOKUPS, PIVOTS, SUMIFS)

Nice to have:

  • SAP knowledge, especially in Financial Accounting (FI) and Cost Centre Accounting (CO).
  • Manufacturing finance experience.
