Continuous Improvement Manager

Job Description

Key responsibilities of the role:  

 

  • Define and develop a strategic continuous improvement roadmap to support plant productivity and delivery.
  • Work with Plant Director and site Financial Controller to build the long-term strategy for site development.
  • To lead and coach local plant leaders in the implementation of the JDE Manufacturing Operating Systems (MOS).
  • Lead and drive the Continuous Improvement (CI) project portfolio to deliver plant productivity targets ensuring there is a strong pipeline of projects developed from the plant loss analysis and developing all colleague engagement.
  • Creating a continuous improvement culture that challenges the status quo.
  • Coach and guide the site leadership team to develop their behaviours and ways of working on the journey to becoming a High Performing Organisation and Team.
  • Support the business to improve existing processes and create new ones to become most effective and efficient, making best use of available resources using the CI / Lean Six Sigma methodology.
  • Provide connection to ensure learnings and best practice are shared across the plant.
  • Ensure significant, sustainable business process improvement with positive financial impact.

 

Qualifications

Experience & Education:

At least a Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline ideally engineering or science-based

Able to demonstrate extensive experience of operational leadership and management within a manufacturing environment.

Able to demonstrate experience of implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) pillars and Lean Principles.

Black Belt Six Sigma

Clear understanding and experience of the stepped pillar approaches of AM, PM, Org, FI, Flow, Quality, Safety, IM, M&E & Leadership.

Strong coach skills across all levels of an organisation

Methodical problem solver who is able to turn theoretical principles into clear strategy.

Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills who can influence at all levels of an organisation.

Extensive experience in successful application of Lean and 6 sigma techniques.

Experience of creating and working in a High Performing culture.

What’s it like to work at JDE?

The Jacobs Douwe Egberts Site in Banbury was originally built in 1965 and is the home manufacturer of Kenco Coffee. It now processes and packs much of the JDE coffee brands for UK stores (Kenco, Tassimo, L’OR). The site consists of 4 Coffee Roasters ,​1 Freeze Drier, 2 Spray Driers,​ 1 Agglomerator​ and 7 Packing Lines​. This is a traditional UK Legacy site and we plan to make it a world class site incorporating the latest manufacturing methodologies.
