Account Specialist - Independents

Job Description

We are looking for an Account Specialist, or Account Executive, in our Independents team! Our Independents team focuses on JDE’s relationship with the Independent supermarkets in Australia, such as Metcash, Foodworks, Foodland etc. You will manage your own national account (Foodworks) and you’ll be the “go to person” for our Key Account Managers, helping them to ensure all sales performance targets are delivered. You’ll also manage the budget for our national field sales team, including planning and execution of activations throughout the year.

You will be based in our modern office in North Sydney where we currently have a hybrid work policy (3 days WFO / 2 days WFH) and will occasionally do field visits in Sydney (1x a month) and attend interstate customer meetings (1x or 2x per quarter).

In this role, you will be responsible for: 

  • National Channel and Account Management 
  • Promotional Planning, Administration and Execution 
  • S&OP KPI’s & Process Compliance and Forecast Accuracy
  • Range Management and Category Reviews / Workshops
  • Account administration – claims, accruals
  • Database management for the Independents business (using PET2)
  • Field Sales Management – Manage our 3rd party contractor for field sales in the Independents channel

For this role as an Account Specialist - Independents, we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

  • You ideally have experience within an FMCG company, even better if you have already worked with the Independents channel
  • You have strong commercial acumen and a belief in the value of data driven insights
  • You have excellent Excel and data management skills and a high attention to detail
  • You’re great at stakeholder management: you easily deal with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and know how to prioritise
  • You have great communication skills and are an experienced presenter
