Forklift driver & production specialist - PM shift

Job Description

JDE is looking for a committed Production Specialist in our factory in Ōtara, Auckland to work on the afternoon shift (3.30PM – midnight, Monday to Friday).  The Auckland factory is in a period of growth, therefore there will be plenty of opportunities to develop your skills across a range of machinery.  This role is vital in ensuring a safe work environment, and the production of high-quality tea and coffee. 

Key tasks will include:

  • Operating machinery
  • Manufacturing and packaging tea and coffee products to specifications 
  • Setting up machines and/or weighing scales (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
  • Pack, stack and move pallets with the use of a forklift
  • Ensure raw materials accurately flow to the machines
  • Fix any issues that might happen during the shift (including basic troubleshooting) or ask for help to problem solve
  • Fill in paperwork - records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Maintain high-quality standards and aim for continuous improvement
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and make the best use of the space available
  • Complete quality and production records in line with policies/procedures
  • Report any issues/non-conformances & waste
  • Labelling/tagging of bags and packing

Qualifications

To be the best Production Specialist, we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

  • Production Operator experience (ideally within Food, Beverage or Pharma Industries) 
  • Willingness to commit full time to the afternoon shift (3.30pm – midnight) including paid overtime as needed (more interested in working the day shift from 7:30 AM - 4 PM? Let us know or apply here)
  • Track record of being able to safely and physically perform in a similar role (lifting and pushing required) 
  • A forklift licence and experience with using one
  • Experience working in a fast-paced team 
  • Willingness to learn, grow and adapt as production needs change
